Otto Stoessl Prize

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Otto Stoessl Prize has been awarded every two years by the Board of Trustees of the Otto Stoessl Foundation in Graz to well-known German-speaking authors since 1982 .

The award commemorates the writer Otto Stoessl (1875–1936). The prize was donated by his son Franz Stoessl (1910–1988), a classical philologist from Graz, who initially financed the prize directly and established a foundation in his will that has since taken on this task. The prize is endowed with 4,000 euros (as of 2018).
