Life

Heide-Marie Emmermann was born in mid-1942. She was raised Protestant and left the church at the age of 19. She studied sociology for one semester in Frankfurt am Main via her second educational path . From 1974 she studied political science , Greek , Latin and Catholic theology , after which she converted to Catholicism herself and henceforth worked as a mentor for lay theologians at the Catholic university community in Munich. After a few years she was released and worked as a dominatrix in a brothel on the Reeperbahn in Hamburg .

She processed her life path in her 1991 autobiography Credo to God and His Flesh: Experiences with earthly and heavenly love . The novel The Holy Whore followed a year later : "Credo to God and His Flesh" by Heyne Verlag . The novel was translated into Italian with the title La puttana santa Credo in Dio e nella sua carne and published by Castelvecchi . The novel was made into a film on behalf of RTL for television under the title The holy whore . The film was originally scheduled to be broadcast on Prayer and Repentance Day 1997 at prime time at 8:15 p.m. Since the mixture of the two topics BDSM and belief was viewed as blasphemous , the film and the broadcaster were exposed to great criticism even before it was broadcast, so that the film had to be defused and postponed several times. It was broadcast on February 11, 1998 and had an audience of seven million.
