Jörg Peter Wontorra (born November 29, 1948 in Lübeck ) is a German television presenter and television producer .

TV presenter

After graduating from high school at Lübeck's Johanneum and studying law , which he completed with the 1st exam, Wontorra began a traineeship and then his career as a sports journalist at NDR . From 1982 to 1992 he was sports director of Radio Bremen , 1984-1992 presenter of the ARD - sports show . In 1992 he switched to Sat.1 , where, in addition to the football program - Sat.1 Bundesliga , he also ran the program Please melde dich! moderated in which missing people were searched. From 1999 to 2003 Wontorra sat on the supervisory board of Bundesliga club Werder Bremen . After the responsible election committee had only nominated him as a substitute member for the new election of the supervisory board, Wontorra withdrew his candidacy.

During his time at Werder Bremen, the former handball player looked after the 2nd women's handball team for a while.

In April 2012, Wontorra hit the headlines again in connection with Werder after publicly criticizing the club.

social commitment

In 2003, Wontorra founded the non-profit Hanseatic Foundation. In the “classic” Hanseatic cities of Bremen, Hamburg and Lübeck, it supports projects with three main focuses: education, upbringing, youth welfare. By promoting school and extracurricular measures for children and young people, it wants to offer alternatives to the passive media society and promote creativity , team spirit and commitment .
