A house in Toscana is the title of an ARD television series, which is about the experiences of the German Donner family, consisting of father Julius ( Stefan Wigger ), mother Rosl ( Renate Schroeter ), daughter Bea ( Muriel Baumeister ) and son Markus ( Oliver Clemens ), from Freising in their holiday home in Tuscany .

General

The series was produced by TV 2000 on behalf of the ARD broadcasters SWF and SDR as well as DRS . All episodes were directed by Gabi Kubach based on the scripts by Sylvia Ulrich . The series began broadcasting on January 2, 1991, two seasons with a total of 23 episodes were produced, and the first season was shot in 1989. The series was repeated several times in the 1990s and also after 2000 on the regional programs of ARD and in the morning program of the first, most recently in 2018. The title is incorrectly given in many sources as A House in Tuscany .

The filming location in Germany is, among other things, Freising , the residence of the Donner family (license plate FS). However, many scenes cannot be located in Freising. Exceptions are the Dom-Gymnasium (Beas Schule) and the archway at the driveway to Domberg (scene in episode 10). The Neveos motorway to Freising is also authentic.
