Teixeira is a place and a former municipality in northern Portugal .
Teixeira belongs to the Baião district in the Porto district . The community had an area of 21.6 km² and 595 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013, the municipalities of Teixeira and Teixeiró were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Teixeira e Teixeiró . Teixeira is the seat of this newly formed community.
