Gabi Kubach
Gabi Kubach (born October 19, 1944 in Griebenow ) is a German director .
Life
Kubach studied from 1967 to 1971 at the University of Television and Film Munich . Her directorial debut The End of Dominance was followed two years later, Divided Joy , a film about two headstrong girlfriends, and in the early 1980s the psychological thriller Trauma (1982, with Birgit Doll ) and the Vicki Baum film adaptation Rendezvous in Paris (1982, with Claude Jade ).
While Gabi Kubach's work with these films concentrated on subjects with an emancipatory content, in the 1990s she mainly directed entertainment films and series ( A House in Tuscany with Muriel Baumeister ). Since 2000, Kubach has shot TV melodramas such as Zauber des Rosengarten (2001, with Barbara Wussow , Christian Kohlund and Albert Fortell ) or Laura's Wishlist (2005, with Christine Neubauer and Francis Fulton-Smith ) and comedies such as Liebe ist halben (with Götz George and Thekla Carola Wied ). She returned to her roots in a comedic way with the TV film The Second Spring (2003, with Nadja Tiller and Ursula Karusseit ). The two-parter Das Amberamulett followed in 2004 with Muriel Baumeister as a young landlady in the turmoil of the war and post-war.
