action

Klaudia Wehmeyer is co-owner of the confectionery Die Zuckerbäckerin . Christmas is just around the corner, but Klaudia has little reason to celebrate. She is sentenced to three years in prison for embezzlement. She is said to have embezzled funds amounting to 500,000 euros, thereby giving her business partner Dr. Frank Lehmann have done massive damage. Klaudia is innocent and suspects that accountants Roland Müller and Frank Lehmann are working together to enrich themselves. She escapes from the courthouse. On her escape, she can organize a Santa suit. A rocker helps her on a motorcycle and drops her in front of Lehmann's villa in Anif . To say goodbye, he hands her a pair of pincers, which will still be useful to her. Klaudia tries to break into the house and cuts a cable from the alarm system. This starts and Klaudia flees to the neighboring house. This belongs to Paul Weber and his children Pia and Tim. Paul is widowed and faces professional ruin. His little shop, La petite belle France , has been sold to a new investor who wants to close it. Paul had expected to be able to convert the shop into a bistro. Now he has invested in a bistro that will never exist and also in debt after a thorough renovation of his house. With regard to his children, he refuses to take over another branch of the chain in Linz .

Pia and Tim, who are not sure whether Santa Claus really exists, bring Klaudia into the house and hide her in the attic. A second attempt to break into Lehmann's house fails because of the neighbors' dog. Tim, in turn, gossips and reveals in the evening that Santa Claus lives in the house. If Paul initially believes in a joke, a little later he catches the children trying to bring Klaudia some food. He finds Klaudia in the nursery. Because she doesn't reveal who she is and what she wants, he throws her out. She moves into the family tree house. A little later she sees Lehmann and Müller disappearing with numerous files in the neighboring house. From their conversation, she can infer that upon Lehmann's instructions, Müller exchanged the old bookkeeping for a completely new one. The old files are now stored in Lehmann's house and would prove Klaudia's innocence.

After a while, Paul feels sorry for Klaudia, who freezes in the cold. He brings her into the house and offers her a cookie. Both realize that they work in similar professions and Klaudia bakes cookies and stollen for the family. The next day she gets Pia and Tim to lure Frau Lehmann out of the house. She tries again to break into the house, but is disturbed by Paul. The alarm system goes off again and Paul has had enough: he locks Klaudia in the cellar and demands an explanation that evening. Klaudia reports on the trial and her innocence and Paul now lets her sleep in the attic. Meanwhile, his private problems have increased. He was with Kurt Klett, who is the man behind the sale of Petite belle France . He asked him to give him a job in Anif, and Klett immediately sensed the big business. He now wants to buy Paul's house cheaply and have it demolished in order to do big business here with a new building. Paul refuses to sell, so he is now threatened with a foreclosure auction because of the debt. At his place of work, he again realizes that La petite belle France should not actually be closed. Rather, Klett wants to lay off the old workforce in order to hire new workers at low wages. Paul seeks out Klett and threatens to make his criminal machinations public, but Klett is happy to let it come down to it. Paul realizes that he has nothing against him and gives up. Klaudia, however, knows Klett's sore spot. Although he was already married, he was having an affair with her best friend Vera. Pictures show both in clear poses. Klaudia blackmailed Klett with the pictures. She not only wants Klett to pay Paul's debts, but also for Paul to be able to turn Petite belle France into a bistro as planned. Out of necessity, Klett agrees. However, Paul finds Klaudia's photo album and deduces from the pictures that Klaudia and Klett were having an affair. When he heard from Klett the next day that he was allowed to open his bistro, he believed that Klaudia had offered herself to Klett and that Klett had therefore agreed. Angry, he attacks Klett and knocks him down. Klett dismisses him.

Shortly thereafter, Klaudia succeeds in breaking into Lehmann's house and taking the relieving materials. The alarm system goes off anyway and Klaudia takes refuge in Paul's house. However, he refuses to let her in and Klaudia is arrested shortly afterwards. The stolen documents eventually lead to her rehabilitation. She can't be happy about it because Paul doesn't want anything more to do with her. On Christmas Eve, Klaudia appears again disguised as Santa Claus at Paul. Although he doesn't want to let them in, his children are thrilled to see Klaudia. She explains to Paul that it was not her but her friend who had an affair with Klett. Paul realizes that he has made a mistake and both make up very much, much to the delight of the children who have wished for a new mother for the celebration.
