Andreas Weidinger

Andreas Weidinger (* 1970 ) is a German composer for film music and book author.

Life

After graduating from high school, Weidinger went to Berlin to study bassoon , music theory and political science at the University of the Arts (now UdK) and began to work on his first film music projects. He then studied composition for film and television at the University of Music and Theater in Munich . Since then he has composed music for films as well as contemporary orchestral and chamber music.

He worked with artists such as the oboe virtuoso Stefan Schilli , the Chinese multi-instrumentalist Wu-Wei, and members of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra .

His work in 2012/2013 includes the 3-D films Shockwave Darkside by director Jay Weisman and The Banshee Chapter by director Blair Erickson .

He is also the author of the book "Filmmusik".

For his soundtrack for the movie "Butterflies of the Night" he received the 2004 Prize of the Franz Grothe Foundation at the 4th Bonn International Film Music Biennale.
