Christian Spatzek (born July 9, 1956 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor , director and artist .

Life

After studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and at the Mozarteum in Salzburg , theater engagements took him to numerous German-speaking theaters.

He was a member of the ensemble at the Schauspielhaus Zürich and also played, for example, at the Vienna Volkstheater , Theater in der Josefstadt , Landestheater Salzburg , Stadttheater Klagenfurt , Stadttheater Bolzano and at the Salzburg Festival .

Christian Spatzek first appeared as a film actor in 1979 in the television film Lemminge (director: Michael Haneke ); since then numerous other roles have followed. His most famous role was that of August "Gustl" Schimek in the television series Kaisermühlen-Blues . He played a Viennese detective who wanted to work his way up and down to be able to offer his wife and two children everything, but in the end was faced with a mountain of debt and a burned-down house. In 2012 Spatzek took over the management of the Parndorf Theater Summer . He opened with " The Talisman " by Johann Nestroy . In October 2018 he was appointed artistic director of the Stockerau Festival as the successor to Zeno Stanek .

Spatzek is married to a Korean woman and has two children. He lives in Mauer with his family . His sister Andrea Spatzek is also active in the acting industry and is known for her role in Lindenstrasse .
