Günter Strack plays the criminalist Johannes König , who investigates various cases in his hometown Bamberg . Shortly before his retirement, the inspector was shot in the leg and had to walk with a stick. As a pensioner, Johannes König becomes a loner: he investigates criminal cases on his own initiative and works with the still incumbent inspector Axel Huebner. He is also a regular user of a public bus and can get the bus driver Pichler to take him with him without a valid ticket or to deviate from the timetable.
