Port Isaac is a fishing village on the north coast of the county of Cornwall in southwest England . The next larger town is called Wadebridge and is about 15 kilometers away by road. Port Gaverne is considered a part of Port Isaac, despite its own individual history.

Port Isaac has been a busy port for handling goods such as stone, coal, wood, and ceramics in the past, from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Fishing and processing were also important, and crabs and lobsters are still fished today . In addition, tourism is playing an increasingly important role.

In the old center of the village with its narrow alleys winding down the slopes there are many architecturally and historically significant cottages from the 18th and 19th centuries. The shanty chorus " The Fisherman's Friends ", which performs every Friday evening in the old harbor, is also known.

Port Isaac has a number of beaches nearby, suitable for both surfers and families. Not far away there is also the Longcross Victorian Garden and Pencarrow House & Gardens and the mansion Lanhydrock House . Two steam railways in the region are the Bodmin and Wenford Railway (standard gauge) and the Launceston Steam Railway (narrow gauge).

From the 1980s Port Isaac was a location for numerous film and television productions. Examples of this:
