Caro Cult (born June 27, 1994 in Hanover ) is a German actress .

Life

Caro Cult grew up near Hanover. She first attended a school in Isernhagen until, at the age of 14, she moved with her parents to Bad Nenndorf and went to high school there. She attended a free drama school for children and young people.

In 2012 she broke off her school education in order to move to Berlin and pursue her artistic career. She shot her first music videos and short films as well as the independent film Teens on Age with Henning Gronkowski and became the muse of star photographer Oliver Rath . This has resulted in years of collaboration and friendship. It also graced his book cover Berlin Bohème , which was the first time it attracted the attention of the international art scene.

First supporting roles in film productions such as Fucking Berlin , Gut zu Vögeln , LOMO - The Language of Many Others , Fikkefuchs followed, as well as leading mini-series roles in Wait for Me and Smell the Spell by French directors Michel Reilhac and Stephane Barbato. Smell the Spell was shown at the Cannes International Film Festival .

In 2016 she took on her first major leading role in high society with director and screenwriter Anika Decker , which helped her breakthrough in German cinema in 2017. In the same year she played other leading roles in the thriller Justice , the stoner comedy Fette Kumpelz and a pilot in the series White Wedding , which was initially developed as a feature film. She also made the two short films Penrose and The Dress .

In 2018 she was cast for the German / international series Babylon Berlin and received an ensemble role.

Others

Cult lives vegan and is committed to animal welfare, u. a. in collaboration with organizations like PETA2 .

In addition to her film projects, she has appeared in commercials for About You , Kleiderkreisel, Douglas and Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005) .

She speaks German, English and French .
