As a DJ he was active under the name Al Kapone, he put u. a. regularly in the Fun Park and Kagan. He also made a music video. Due to dissatisfaction with his DJ work and the resulting problems, he reoriented himself professionally. As a photographer he was self-taught . Photographic works

Rath's pictures range from snapshots to conceptual works . Dynamism, provocation, visual wit and spectacular productions shape his images. His often provocative pictures show celebrities, the Berlin scene and models in excessive, worldly and at the same time cheerful and euphoric motifs. He himself described his art with the words "don't be afraid of anything .. no idea of anything".

It is not uncommon for his models to be photographed naked. “Everything that is forbidden and wicked appeals to me. The pure personality shows itself without masks and veils, ”said Oliver Rath about his nude photography in an interview with art - Das Kunstmagazin .

According to ARD, the “scene artist” and “new pop artist” Oliver Rath was “someone who photographs everything and everyone”. In addition to unknown Berliners, the artist also had many celebrities in front of his lens, for example national soccer coach Jogi Löw , the presenters Palina Rojinski and Joko Winterscheidt or scooter front man HP Baxxter , erotic model Micaela Schäfer , stars like Boris Becker , Wilson Gonzalez Ochsenknecht and Jürgen Vogel , but also fashion czar Karl Lagerfeld .

In autumn 2014 he photographed the berlympic campaign “We want to play”, an appeal to all Berliners to vote for the 2024 Olympic Games in Berlin.

Blog

New pictures were published daily on his blog, which both show different facets of our everyday life and also present erotic situations and scenes in an artificial way . "The photographs look like stills from film scenes, with carefully planned choreographies, props and actors." With two to four new photos per day on the blog, he quickly became "Germany's most popular photo blogger". He was followed by 31,600 fans on Facebook (as of November 2014). According to fudder.de, his blog was viewed 20,000 times a day in 2011.
