Photoblog

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A photoblog (older spelling: photoblog) is a variant of the weblog in which the presentation of photographs is in the foreground. A distinction is made between different forms of expression, e.g. B. "optical diaries ", photographic art projects and portfolios of professional photographers. The quality of the works shown differs considerably in some cases.

Photo technique used

Most photoblogs are filled with images from digital cameras , as there is no media break from recording to publication. Some photoblogs consist of pictures that are uploaded directly from camera phones ( moblog ).

Photoblogs with pictures from analog cameras are less common. These then often deal with experimental photography and use Holgas or Lomos , for example .

Culture

Photo bloggers are often inspired by so-called photo memes . These are websites that invite you to submit photographs on specific topics on a weekly basis.

Most photo blogs offer a comment option for each individual picture in a guest book . This interaction between viewer and author is an important part of many photoblogs.

software

Photoblogs are mostly based on weblog software. This is sometimes extended by plug-ins with special functions for publishing a photo blog. There are also specialized providers who provide partly free, partly chargeable services for running a photo blog on the World Wide Web .
