Photobucket ( English "photo bucket or bucket") is a commercial online database for the archiving and presentation of digital images and videos, a so-called image host .

The service is only in English and currently contains over 7 billion files. In October 2010 the Alexa Rank was 89, in July 2016 704.

Content can be made available to the general public, a user group or only to the account holder himself. They can be combined and sorted in various ways. The files can be transferred by email or camera phone and linked later.

Registered users can either use the services free of charge or (with extended functions) for a fee. Nude shots are not allowed.

On June 30, 2017, Photobucket ceased its free service and charged an annual fee of US $ 99 for external linking of the stored images and US $ 399 for embedding images on third party websites, such as personal blogs or forums . This fee change, which took place without prior notice, was received very critically. Users who had relied on the free hosting were now faced with the choice of either paying the annual fee or switching to another provider and changing all links (potentially thousands) to the new provider.
