history

Neulietzegöricke - local map

After the Oderbruch had been drained by Frederick the Great in 1753, Neulietzegöricke was laid out as an elongated street village. In the middle of the village, between the two village streets, the shaft ditch, a water drainage ditch, was created. The excavation was used to raise the construction sites of the colonist houses. Between the two rows of houses, in the middle of the village, the church, the inn and the schoolhouse, which is today's community center, were built. The village church was built in 1842. It is a late classicist, rectangular hall building with a square west tower. In 1832, most of the village complex was destroyed by a fire and later rebuilt. About a third of the houses in the village are half-timbered houses or still contain half-timbered elements.

Incorporations

Attractions

Vierseitenhof Borkenhagen
Historic garden house

Neulietzegöricke with its many restored half-timbered houses is now a village ensemble of the oldest colonist village in the Oderbruch from 1753 under monument protection and is a member of the working group "Historic village centers in the state of Brandenburg" .

The completely preserved four-sided courtyard Borkenhagen with the pigeon house is worth seeing. The garden shed, a gem of village architecture, dates back to the town's early days. Its location at that time could not be retained due to plans for new construction. That is why it was rebuilt in 1998 on the “Kleiner Anger”.

In Neulietzegöricke there are, in addition to the many restored half-timbered houses:

  • Four-sided courtyard of the Borkenhagen family with a small exhibition
  • Village church with late classical church hall construction from 1839/40
  • Day laborer's and farmhouses are well worth seeing
  • Heimatstube in the community center
