history

Ferry between Gozdowice (Güstebiese) and Güstebieser Loose.

Güstebiese was first mentioned in a document in 1337. Since 1466 it belonged to the Order of St. John in Grüneberg (Neumark), today a village in the municipality of Cedynia . In the 19th century the place grew strongly. From 1815 a ferry began to operate between Güstebiese and Güstebieser Loose. In the 20th century the place developed into a climatic health resort. A bathing beach was created on the Oder.

During the Second World War, the place was part of the main battle line on the Oder. Large parts of the place were destroyed. The place was separated from Güstebiese by the new border in the Oder and came to the municipality of Neulewin. In the early 1950s, an LPG was founded in the village .

The place belonged to 1945 as part of the municipality Güstebiese (today Gozdowice ) to the district of Königsberg Nm. The corridors to the west of the Oder were separated as Güstebieser Loose and came to the Oberbarnim district , which was broken up as part of the district reform in the GDR in 1952; Güstebieser Loose came to the Bad Freienwalde district . With the formation of the administrative office in Brandenburg in 1992, Güstebieser Loose came together with 20 other municipalities to the Wriezen Land office , which was renamed the Barnim-Oderbruch office on October 1, 1994 . As part of the municipal reform in Brandenburg in 2003 , Güstebieser Loose was incorporated into the municipality of Neulewin on October 26, 2003 and is now a district of Neulewin.
