The Ballhaus Ost is a production and venue for free theater - and art projects in Berlin district of Prenzlauer Berg .
history
A group of artists from the visual arts, dance, drama, science, theater, stage design and music have been working together on the house's program since February 16, 2006. The basic democratic principles in structure and organization affect all content-related decisions. Ballhaus Ost was founded by Uwe Moritz Eichler, Philipp Reuter and Anne Tismer .
Since 2011, the artistic direction has been subordinate to the director and dramaturge Daniel Schrader and the performer and producer Tina Pfurr, together they determine the program planning and the schedule. The work is supported in the area of dramaturgy by Anne Brammen and in the area of press by Kerstin Böttcher. Björn Stegmann heads the technical department, supported by his technical colleagues Fabian Eichner, Maik Büttner and Bernd Krieger.
In December 2014 the 7th GAT - Greetings from Tattoos , an annual picture exhibition of the tattooable arts , took place in Ballhaus Ost.

The Ballhaus Ost is a house that is equally open to all disciplines of the arts, all their forms, groups, questions, researchers, genres and genres, types, sub- and anti-types. There have been exhibitions, parties, theater, performances, concerts, films, dance, lectures, readings and festivals.
Half of the over one hundred events a year consist of in-house productions. The house shows nationally and internationally known artists in guest performances and various festivals. Companions like Das Helmi, Anne Tismer and Kollektiv GUTESTUN and Lubricat present their work alongside young, as yet undiscovered talents.

Friends of Ballhaus Ost
The Friends' Association of Ballhaus Ost has existed since autumn 2006. Tom Stromberg has taken over the chairmanship, Christian Nagel and Peter Jordan are the board members . Further members are David Baum, Jobst Fiedler , Matthias v. Hartz and Claus-Peter Hess.
