Jobst Fiedler

Jobst Fiedler (born February 7, 1944 in Detmold ) is a German professor. Fiedler teaches public management at the Hertie School of Governance .

Life

From 1957 Fiedler completed an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant. He studied law, politics and economics in Berlin, Geneva and Berkeley, among others. From 1980 Fiedler worked in various management positions at the city of Hamburg (including several years as district manager of Hamburg-Harburg ) and was a member of the advisory board of the OECD and EU . From 1990 to 1996 Fiedler was senior city director of the state capital Hanover. He received his doctorate from the University of Hanover.

From 1996 he was employed as a strategic consultant for the management consultancy Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and was involved in the development of the Hartz concept as a member of the Hartz Commission . Between 2003 and 2004 he gave a. a. Teaching at the University of Potsdam and the Luigi Bocconi University of Economics in Milan, Italy. Fiedler has been Associate Dean of the Hertie School of Governance since 2005 .

Jobst Fiedler is a member of the SPD .
