Henning Gronkowski (born August 10, 1988 in Essen-Werden ) is a German actor and director who became known, among other things, for his roles in films by the director Klaus Lemke and for his debut feature film, Yung .

Life

Henning Gronkowski grew up in Schneverdingen in the Lüneburg Heath . In the summer of 2006 he was discovered in Hamburg by the actress Saralisa Volm , who introduced him to the director Klaus Lemke. As a teenager, he then played a role in his television film Finale about the 2006 World Cup . The then 19-year-old played his first leading role in Lemke's TV film Dirty South . Other films followed for Lemke as an actor. In 2012 he worked as a director for the first time and, in collaboration with Maria Giménez, a visual artist from Berlin, shot the coming-of-age film Teens on Age , which won the audience award at the Berlin independent film festival “Boddinale”. With a length of 73 minutes, Teens on Age is officially a short film . In 2018 Gronkowski made his feature film debut with YUNG . The world premiere of the film, with amateur actors, about four teenage girls hungry for life in Berlin's party underground took place in July 2018 at the Munich Film Festival ; the international premiere followed in November 2018 at the 22nd Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in the First Feature Competition section. Gronkowski, Mike Ott and Anatol Nitschke acted as producers .

Henning Gronkowski and Maria Giménez founded the "Giménez-Gronkowski Filmproduktion" (GGProduction) together in 2012. In 2013 she produced Dagobert's music video for the song "Ich bin zu Jung" and some music videos for the band '' 2Raumwohnung ''. a. to the songs "I like it just as much" and "I'm beautiful with you".

GG Production was renamed "Gruppe Gronkowski" after the work partners separated.

In his feature film Yung, director Gronkowski looks over the shoulders of four female urban teenagers who are searching for themselves in a world of self-awareness and parties. He also provided the script himself. He names Klaus Lemke , with whom he worked for a long time, as a formative influence and his "film father" .
