Nilz Bokelberg (born October 12, 1976 in Bonn ), actually Nils Bokelberg , sometimes also known as Nilzenburger , is a German television and radio presenter , podcaster , singer and author .

Life

Bokelberg grew up in the greater Cologne area and completed his Abitur at the Käthe-Kollwitz-Gymnasium in Wesseling . Between 2003 and 2008 he studied scenic directing at the University of Television and Film Munich in Department III for Film and TV Drama . He is a lecturer in media ethics in the media management course at the Berlin SRH University of Popular Arts .

He has a daughter (* 2001) with the actress Chiara Schoras . He has been married to the podcast producer Maria Lorenz since May 2020.

Career

Bokelberg first became known as a video jockey for the German music broadcaster VIVA . He was a member of the station's team of moderators from the start of the broadcast in December 1993 to 1998. In 1994 he released the album Imzeichen des Arm-Bein-Men with his own band Fritten und Bier , which, however, had only moderate success. During this time, Bokelberg took on a guest role in the ARD television series Verbotene Liebe and in the ZDF television film I'll give you my husband . In 1997 he finally recorded the song Thomas D. Is Ill for Thomas D's first studio album Solo . From 1999 he moderated the fun sport magazine STOKE for DSF .

Between the end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007, Bokelberg moderated the DSF quiz Sofaduell , in which the former tennis player Boris Becker competed against three flat-share residents and had to answer sports questions. In June 2007 he took part with Michaela May , Nicole Belstler-Boettcher and Thomas Fuchsberger in the VOX - documentary soap The perfect celebrity dinner , in August 2008 in a celebrity special of the program Die Kocharena , where he played against the cook Martin Baudrexel took over.

As a radio presenter, he presented the one-hour program Nilzenburgers Weltfrieden on the ByteFM internet radio between November 2010 and January 2011 .

Bokelberg has also been an author since 2010. Together with Silke Bolms he published his book I throw everything down and become a princess , in which he deals with the most bizarre groups on social media platforms such as Facebook . With Finally good music , a book about Bokelberg's own taste in music was published in 2013, embellished with anecdotes, background information and personal memories.

In 2011 he hosted the program Moviacs together with Donnie O'Sullivan on ZDF Neo .

In autumn 2016 his third book Tristesse Renesse was published by KiWi-Verlag . In this book, Bokelberg dedicates himself to the nostalgia of getting older and looks back on his past in an autobiographical humorous way.

Bokelberg has been the presenter of the YouTube channel ShortCuts since December 2012, which revolved around the world of cinema. Among other things, Bokelberg reviewed the latest theatrical releases there at irregular intervals, but also dealt with comments from fans or classic films in other sections. In 2016 the project was discontinued due to time constraints.

Podcasts

Since June 2015, Bokelberg and Markus Herrmann and Donnie O'Sullivan have been running the guest list Geisterbahn podcast produced by Pool Artists , in which the three moderators tell each other entertaining experiences from their lives, talk about bizarre things that are currently affecting them or questions from the community of the Answer podcasts. Since the end of 2015, the recordings of this podcast have been recorded in irregular sections in front of a live audience. Events of the 2018 No Intention Tour took place in well-known venues such as Schmidts Tivoli in Hamburg or the slaughterhouse in Wiesbaden.

With the presenter and journalist Uke Bosse , Bokelberg has been following the podcast project Zwei Nasen Tanken since 2016 . In this format, the moderators meet up and visit various locations such as bars and pubs in the course of the episode while drinking alcohol, engaging with their surroundings in an entertaining way and telling anecdotes from their lives. Since March 2018, Bokelberg and his wife Maria Lorenz have also been running the podcast WIMAF - Reunion is joy , in which they invite various, mostly celebrity guests to their homes and discuss films. Guests were u. a. Sophie Passmann , Lars Eidinger , Etienne Gardé and Jeannine Michaelsen .
