Jochen Schmidt-Hambrock (born February 21, 1955 in Wuppertal ) is a German bass player and composer .

biography

Jochen Schmidt-Hambrock graduated from the University of Music and Dance in Cologne in 1981 . He then went on tour as a bass player with musicians such as Friedrich Gulda , Manfred Schoof and Michael Sagmeister . From 1989 to 1995 he played bass in Klaus Doldinger's band Passport and in various formations with Alexander von Schlippenbach .

Schmidt-Hambrock has been writing several jingles for various television programs since 1981 . Up to 1994 there were up to over 800 jingles, which he wrote mainly for television stations such as ARD and SWR3 , setting programs such as ARD Presseclub , Die goldene Eins and Sportschau to music. (The latter music was replaced by the current melody by Dieter Bohlen .)

With the 1991 broadcast Tatort: ​​Deadly Past , Schmidt-Hambrock made his debut as a film composer. From 1987 to 2010 he was on the board of the Composers Club, and since 2011 he has been deputy chairman of DEFKOM (German Film Composers Union). Until 2015 he was a member of the GEMA works committee. He has been a member of GEMA's supervisory board since 2015.

Since 2014 he has been the bass player for AKADEMIX - the official band of the German Film Academy and in the Roter Salon formation , which plays cinematic jazz.
