Mikkeline Kierkgaard

Mikkeline Kierkgaard (born May 25, 1984 in Hundested , Denmark ) is a Danish figure skater and singer.

She started as a single runner for Denmark and is known for her enormous artistic charisma. Your Danish trainer was Rønne Jensen . Because of quarrels with the Danish figure skating association, she switched to pair skating in May 2002 and started for Germany with Norman Jeschke . Your trainer for pairs in Germany was Knut Schubert .

Kierkgaard / Jeschke were third in the German championships in 2004. However, due to an ISU rule concerning the change of country, they could not take part in international championships in 2004. In the 2005 season they were canceled due to illness and injuries. The couple continued to work together in Berlin, where they prepared for the next season and possible participation in the Olympics. At that time, however, Mikkeline Kierkgaard did not yet have German citizenship , which is a prerequisite for starting at the Winter Olympics. In the summer of 2005, the couple completed a training camp in Vancouver, Canada .

Due to repeated injuries, Mikkeline Kierkgaard ended her figure skating career in November 2005. The series of injuries began as early as October 2002 when Kierkgaard crashed into figure skater Florian Just and suffered a severe concussion and traumatic brain injury. Because of these many injuries, Kierkgaard / Jeschke were never able to compete in the European or World Championships for Germany.

She doubled Claire Danes in the skating scenes in the film It's All About Love by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg .

Mikkeline Kierkgaard had dropped out of school because of competitive sports. She plans to publish her autobiography .

Since 2008, Kierkgaard has also been a singer. Her first single Migratory Bird was released on February 14, 2008.

In 2008 she appeared in 6 episodes of the series Everything that counts , in which she played herself as a guest actress.
