Heinz Simon Keller

Heinz Simon Keller (* 1959 in Schaffhausen ) is a Swiss actor and director. Since the 2013/14 season he has been director of the Theater der Keller in Cologne.

Life

From 1979 to 1982, Keller completed his acting training at the Mozarteum Academy of Performing Arts in Salzburg , from which he graduated with an acting diploma. Since the beginning of the 1980s he has been working mainly as a theater actor , with various permanent and guest engagements, at various theaters in Switzerland and Germany .

He had permanent engagements at the Stadttheater Ulm (1982–1985), the State Theater Karlsruhe (1986), the State Theater Kassel (1989–1993) and the Stadttheater Heidelberg (1993–1997). In Heidelberg he played, among others, Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream , Edmund in King Lear and the title role in Amphitryon by Peter Hacks . He also appeared there in plays by Carl Sternheim and Thomas Bernhard . For the 2006/07 season, Keller went back to the Biel Solothurn City Theater with a permanent position . There he played Leicester in Maria Stuart , Andrew in A Midsummer Night's Comedy by Woody Allen and in the first performance of Dunkel luring world , a theater project by Klaus Händl .

Keller has been working as a freelance actor since the mid-1990s. Among other things, he played at the See-Burgtheater in Kreuzlingen (1997 as a teacher in The Visit of the Old Lady , 2002 as Thisbe in A Midsummer Night's Dream ) and at the Theater der Keller in Cologne (2007/2008, among other things as Werschinin in Three Sisters ). In 2010 he took over as stand-in for about diseased Dietrich Siegl , the role of the dentist Dr. Julien Desforges in the tabloid comedy Die Kaktusblüte at the comedy in the Bayerischer Hof in Munich . In the 2010/11 season he staged the play Die Banalität der Liebe by Savyon Liebrecht at the Theater der Keller , a play about the love story of the two philosophers Hannah Arendt and Martin Heidegger .

Keller also took on roles in film and television. In the cinema he was seen in supporting roles in The White Rose , Engel and Joe and in Bottrop Boys . He also had episode roles in the television series St. Angela , Der Clown , Alarm für Cobra 11 , Lindenstrasse and SOKO Cologne . In 2002/2003 he had a recurring series role in the ZDF series Die Rettungsflieger ; he played Karsten , the friend of the emergency doctor Sabine Petersen . In 2010/2011 he played the role of the seedy businessman Sven Kahl in the ZDF telenovela Lena - Love of my Life . Keller also worked as a speaker for radio plays . Among other things, he worked in radio play productions for West German Broadcasting .

Keller is co-founder of the theater BlackBox, which was founded in Heidelberg in 1996 . There he worked as a director and actor. Most recently he directed The Pain (2011), Frau Müller muss weg (2011) and Wut (2013). Keller won the Kurt Hackenberg Prize for political theater with The Pain .

In the 2013/14 season, Keller took over the management of the Keller Theater in Cologne.
