Celebrity boxes are boxing events organized and broadcast by German private broadcasters with prominent personalities in and on the boxing ring . The concept was imported from the USA .

Two more editions are planned for September 2020, which will be broadcast on Sat.1 .

The TV total boxing match

2001

For the first time, celebrities competed against each other in boxing on the TV station ProSieben on German television . It won Regina Halmich . It should be noted that Stefan Raab competed against a professional boxer in a first appearance of this type, which does not correspond to the actual concept of the format, which means he basically accepted the defeat in advance.

RTL Promiboxes

2002

The Cologne-based private broadcaster RTL Television and the Cologne-based TV production company Brainpool hosted the celebrity boxing for the first time in October 2002. The event was held in the Cologne Coloneum . The fights were carried out over five rounds of 2 minutes each. The winners were Michaela Schaffrath , Joey Kelly and Pierre Geisensetter .

2003

The fights were scheduled for five rounds of two minutes each. The successful participants in Deutschland sucht den Superstar , Daniel Küblböck and Alexander Klaws gave vocal interludes between the fights. The winners were Mola Adebisi , Tanja Szewczenko and Detlef Soost . Spengemann only stood in as a replacement at short notice.

2004

On May 1, 2004, the third celebrity boxing took place on RTL. For the first time, the heavyweight fight went the full length. The winners were Dustin Semmelrogge , Juliane Ziegler and Nana Abrokwa .

The McFit Fight Night

2007

As part of the McFit Fight Night on ProSieben , on March 30, 2007, Stefan Raab and Regina Halmich took revenge under the title The Return of Killerplauze . Halmich won the fight in the Kölnarena again.

The big ProSieben celebrity boxing

2012

After 2001, 2007 and three celebrity boxing events on the private broadcaster's competitor RTL Television , the celebrity boxing was organized as such for the first time by ProSieben. The event took place on March 31, 2012 in Castello Düsseldorf , moderated by Matthias Killing . In addition, Charlotte Engelhardt came as a reporter and kickboxing world champion Christine Theiss , who contributed her expertise. Ivy Quainoo presented the world premiere of her song You Got Me in a show act on the occasion of the evening . The prominent fighters were trained by Sven Ottke , Regina Halmich and other ex-professionals. The men boxed 5 rounds of 2 minutes each, the women's duel lasted 3 rounds of 90 seconds. The winners were Jay Khan , Daniel Aminati , Indira Weis and Jared Hasselhoff .

2014

After the Promiboxen was seen on Sat.1 in 2013, the show switched back to ProSieben in 2014. The event took place again on September 27, 2014 in Castello Düsseldorf. Matthias Killing, Andrea Kaiser and boxer Axel Schulz moderated the program. The laps went over a distance that was unchanged from 2013. It won Thorsten Legat , Melanie Müller and Lucas Cordalis while the duel between Christian Tews and January Kralitschka ran undecided.

2013

The celebrity boxing organized by the sister broadcaster ProSieben last year switched to the Sat.1 broadcaster in 2013 and took place on March 8, 2013. The ring announcer was Michael Buffer . Matthias Killing , Christine Theiss and Axel Schulz moderated . Matthias Preuss commented on the fights. The interviews were carried out by Charlotte Würdig . As in the previous year, the venue was the Castello Düsseldorf . The following fights took place in 6 rounds of 2 minutes for the men and 4 rounds of 90 seconds for the women:

The winners were: Marlene Tackenberg (“Jazzy”), Mola Adebisi, Rocco Stark, Tessa Bergmeier and Daniel Aminati.

2020

In June 2020 it was announced that Sat.1 is planning a new edition for autumn 2020. The new edition will take place on two evenings for the first time. Four fights are planned per evening. While Matthias Killing , Melissa Khalaj and Sarah Valentina Winkhaus moderate the two editions, Tobias Drews and Florian Schmidt-Sommerfeld comment on the boxing matches. The men's fights are divided into five rounds of two minutes each, the women's fights take place in four rounds of one and a half minutes.
