Mola Adebisi (born February 15, 1973 in Uelzen ; real name Ademola Oluwatosin Adebisi ) is a German presenter of Nigerian descent. Adebisi was also active as an actor, voice actor, dancer, musician and amateur racing driver .
Life
Mola Adebisi was born in Uelzen, Lower Saxony. His parents separated very early. Adebisi grew up with his siblings with his mother in Solingen . There he went to the Albert Schweitzer Realschule and the Friedrich List School, the later Friedrich List Vocational College in Solingen. In his youth, Adebisi was a member of several sports clubs. He played American football for the Solingen Hurricanes rookies . Adebisi also took part in various breakdance competitions.
At 14, Adebisi began rapping and dancing hip-hop. Along with Götz Gottschalk and Adé Bantu founded Adebisi 1989 Jazz - Hip-hop group Exponential Enjoyment , with whom he released his first record. A year later, Adebisi danced with Daniel Aminati and Tyron Ricketts in the dance floor formation Bass Bumpers .
In addition, Adebisi worked from 1993 as a guest rapper with Group 4 Reeves , with whom he released the single Karibou as a guest singer . At the appearances with the 4 Reeves, Adebisi began to work as a presenter for the first time. Through an encounter with the star choreographer Marvin A. Smith, whom Adebisi got to know at the Düsseldorfer Tanzschule Werkstatt Tanzbühne eV , he got his first professional dance engagement at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus in the role of Pepe in the musical West Side Story . During his engagement at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Adebisi applied to a casting for VIVA.
Adebisi became known in German-speaking countries through his moderation at the music TV station VIVA , where he was employed from 1993 to 2004. His nickname there was Captain Mola . He was one of the longest active and oldest presenters of the station, where he presented numerous programs such as the live show "Interactive" or the Viva chart programs.
In 1996 he entered the German music charts with the solo single Shake That Body , which he recorded during his engagement with the Marienhof soap opera . He was able to repeat this in 1997 when he published the title Get It Right together with Bed & Breakfast and Sqeezer . In 1997 his last solo single Don't Give Up was released .
From 2001 to 2006 Adebisi also moderated various formats for RTL II (including “The Dome-Backstage” and “Die stümmsten… der Welt”) and DSF (including the Thai kickboxing gala “Superleague” Live or the casting show “Martial Arts X- treme "). Adebisi has had German citizenship since 2003. In the same year, Adebisi sat next to Kelly Trump in the casting show "Erotikstar sucht die Popp-Stars 2003" produced by Beate-Uhse.TV .
In 2004, Adebisi produced the R&B Club format for the Cologne music channel Onyx.tv , which was moderated by rapper Trooper Da Don . In the same year he also completed his business studies with a focus on marketing at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf with a bachelor's degree.
He also played in various TV films and series on ARD and was also a voice actor for the films Ali G in da House (2002), in which he dubbed Sacha Baron Cohen , and Big Sharks - Little Fish (2004).
Since 2005 he has been running the television production company Molali together with actor Mischa Filé ( Niederig and Kuhnt ) .
He brought out an underwear collection under the label "MOLALÎ". From May 2006 to the end of 2008 he was program director at the interactive music channel iM1 . His company, Molali Entertainment GmbH, filed for bankruptcy in September 2007 (Az. 73 IN 66/07). In 2008, Adebisi was in the movie Falco - Damn, We're Still Alive! to see. From 2009 to 2011 Adebisi was an Executive Consultant at the internet service provider Rapidshare . Adebisi also protested on behalf of PETA against caging wild animals.
Adebisi was also frequently on the Nürburgring - Nordschleife . As the holder of the DMSB license for racing drivers (category International C ) he was established in 2001 together with u. a. Smudo on Lotus Elise in 24-hour race second in the class of nine vehicles (Class A9 / A10 with Caterham Cars , Donkervoort ). During so-called tourist trips, he had an accident with his motorcycle on April 1, 2002 and was seriously injured in the Bundeswehr Central Hospital in Koblenz . In 2008, Adebisi started again as a driver of the Heilbronn motorsport team Live-Strip.com Racing in races within the framework of the organizer association Langstreckenmeisterschaft Nürburgring and in the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring.
Adebisi was on the jury of the Gospel Awards 2005. From 2010 to 2011 he was the presenter and producer of the N24 Motor-Motion magazine at N24 . In 2012 he worked for the summer season as an actor at the Karl May Games in Bad Segeberg in the role of the saloon owner Massa Bob. For Neo Magazin he worked as a “notary” from the fourth to the seventh episode. In addition, he and several partners run two catering establishments in two outdoor pools in Duisburg : MiMo-Beach in the Wolfssee outdoor pool in the Wedau district and the Samonte Beach Club in the Großenbaum outdoor pool in the district of the same name. In 2013 Adebisi hosted the show Autolabor on DMAX and took part in the music video for Get Low from SLT.
In 2013, Adebisi lost a lawsuit he had brought against a former Düsseldorf neighbor who is said to have racist against him and others.
In January 2014, Adebisi took part in the show I'm a Star - Get Me Out of Here! as a candidate and finished eighth.
In January 2015, Adebisi accepted a penalty order of 90 daily rates of 100 euros and a four-month driving ban before the Düsseldorf District Court. He admitted driving three times without a license and at excessive speed (driving without a license).
Adebisi lives in Solingen .
