Carsten Herbert Spengemann (born September 6, 1972 in Hamburg ) is a German actor , podcaster and television presenter . He became known, among other things, as a performer in the soap opera Verbotene Liebe (1999-2003) and as the presenter of the talent show Deutschland sucht den Superstar (2002-2004).

Life

Spengemann decided on a career as an actor, since he was already active in a theater group at his high school in Hamburg. According to his own account, he took acting classes in New York and Miami . Back in Germany he first played in commercials and then u. a. in the series Polizeiruf 110 , St. Angela and Unter uns . From 1999 to 2003 he played the role of bodyguard Mark Roloff in Verbotene Liebe . In addition, he had appearances on various theater stages in Hamburg.

In 2002 Spengemann was married to the presenter Anna Heesch for 86 days , the couple separated in an argument.

In 2003 he claimed to the media, "My grandmother Edith confided to our family on their deathbed at the age of 91 that my mother Marianne came from a love affair with Hans Albers in 1942 ," which Spengemann made Alber's grandson, but this through a DNA test could not prove.

In 2009 Carsten Spengemann was the godfather for the initiative " Retten macht Schule ", a project of the Björn Steiger Foundation .

In 2011 he gained media attention when he applied to ZDF as successor to Thomas Gottschalk at Wetten, dass ..? , but lost to Markus Lanz .

Together with Ikke Hüftgold , Spengemann released the single Salz auf die Eier in May 2015 .

Together with Michelle Hunziker , Spengemann hosted the first two seasons of the casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar on RTL between 2002 and 2004 . In the later seasons he was replaced by Marco Schreyl . Since February 2013 Spengemann has been moderating a personality show on Radio Reeperbahn . In 2014 he also became a moderator at Pearl.tv for a short time . However, at the beginning of October 2014, the broadcaster removed all references to the moderator from its Internet and Facebook pages. On January 29, 2015, Spengemann and EnStyle GmbH, as the production company of Pearl.tv, agreed before the Freiburg Labor Court on an amicable separation by October 31, 2014 and a payment of 7500 euros for outstanding fees.

Criminal trial

In 2003 a criminal case against Carsten Spengemann attracted nationwide attention. The public prosecutor in Hamburg stopped in front of him, one from a friend Cartier ring worth 1,700 euros embezzled to have. The judge at the Hamburg District Court came to the same conclusion and sentenced Carsten Spengemann in February 2003 to a fine of 40,000 euros for embezzlement.
