Sterren Jump Op Zaterdag

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sterren Springen Op Zaterdag is a swimming show that was first broadcast on the Dutch television channel SBS 6 in 2012 . Several prominent candidates have four live shows the jump from 10 m tower venture and will be supported by professional water jumpers guided and assessed. The concept is borrowed from the German program TV total Turmspringen (2004–2015), and in 2012 there was a legal dispute between the two developer companies about this. The show has been broadcast in 26 other countries since 2013 , including in Germany under the title Die Pool Champions - Promis unter Wasser .

The German adaptation Die Pool Champions - Promis unter Wasser of the Dutch TV show Sterren Springen Op Zaterdag has been broadcast on RTL TV since June 21, 2013 . The show is a swimming competition between various prominent candidates. The format was discontinued in 2014.

Concept of the German edition

Several prominent candidates have to master different disciplines such as synchronized swimming and diving in four live shows . Half of the candidates take turns doing one or the other sport for each program. The candidates are assessed by a jury with points. In addition, viewers can vote by televoting. Whoever has got the most points from the jury and the audience goes to the next show. This principle was adopted from " Let's Dance ". At the end of the program, the last four placed have to take part in a joint "swim-off", where they have to swim 50 meters. The two fastest progress. The jury's points and calls will be converted into a 1 to 10 point system. The candidate with the most calls or points receives ten points, the one with the least one point.

First season (2013)

The first season, which consists of four episodes, started on June 21, 2013. In May 2013, the broadcaster announced the production of the program and the list of candidates. On June 12, 2013 Nazan Eckes and Marco Schreyl were hired to present the show.

    criticism

“For almost three hours, the Cologne broadcaster delivered total boredom here, which not only lacked class. […] Conceptually, the show is somewhere between “TV Total Turmspringen” and “Let's Dance”. […] But tragically, the “Pool Champions” are not going to end. [...] How to survive this without stimulants is a complete mystery to the viewer after the opening sequence. After three hours of pseudo-professional performances on a level that is far too weak, a jury lacking in inspiration, long introductions to very short water performances and moderate moderation by Eckes and Schreyl, one seriously wonders why one should do this event again. "

“[…] The new program [resembles] […] a summer company outing to the capital's swimming pool. [...] at the 'Pool Champions' [there was] [...] an incredible amount of talk. […] In the end, the show turned out to be just as uninspiring as the field of participants, and everything looked as if the concept of 'Let's dance' had just been transferred to the water world. [...] Moving a show to the indoor pool while the temperatures are outside is probably not the best idea. [...] But the show is still good as a summer side shower - and if you manage to hold out until the last few minutes, there is even something like a touch of tension. Not because presenter Marco Schreyl was allowed to rummage his familiar sentences from 'Deutschland sucht den Superstar' out of the box, but because the 'swim-off' about participating in the next show turned into a real head-to-head swim. "

The series format Splash! ( Splash! ) And Celebrity Splash! is derived directly from the Dutch series or from its model TV total tower diving, but is mostly limited to the discipline of diving . In most cases, former and current professional jumpers could be employed as judges. For example, the jurors Li Na ( ), David Boudia ( ) and Matthew Mitcham ( ) have already won Olympic gold in diving (individual and synchronous) at the games since the turn of the millennium. In Great Britain, the active Tom Daley was also won as a mentor / trainer and ITV flagship, Daley took two short breaks from his preparation for Rio 2016 after London 2012 . Boudia also competed again in 2016. China People's RepublicPeople's Republic of ChinaUnited StatesUnited StatesAustraliaAustralia
