Daphne Cérès Jongejans (born June 22, 1965 in Amstelveen ) is a former Dutch water diver . She started in jumping from the 1-meter and 3-meter board. Jongejans became the first Dutch European champion from the 3-meter board and took part in three Olympic Games .

She won the bronze medal from the 3-meter board at her first major championship, the 1983 European Championship in Rome . The following year she took part in the Olympic Games for the first time in Los Angeles . She reached the final from the 3-meter board and was tenth. At the 1986 World Cup in Madrid , she reached fourth place and thus her best result at a World Cup. Jongejans celebrated her greatest success at the 1987 European Championships in Strasbourg . From the 3-meter board, she became the first and to this day only Dutch European champion in diving . At the Olympic Games in Seoul in 1988 , she reached the final again from the 3-meter board and was eighth. After the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , where she missed the final as 14th from the 3-meter board, Jongejans ended her active career.

She studied at the University of Miami from 1984 to 1988 , where she trained with the university's sports team, the Hurricanes . She won a total of eight college titles and was inducted into the university's Hall of Fame in 2011 . Today Jongejans lives in Atlanta and works as a management consultant and event manager.

Her brother Edwin Jongejans was also a successful water diver and is still the only Dutch world champion in water jumping.
