Magdalena Brzeska (born May 14, 1978 in Gdynia , Poland ) is a former German professional gymnast of Polish origin. She is a 26-time German champion in rhythmic gymnastics .

Athletic career

Brzeska started training at TSV Schmiden in 1990 . She stayed there for six years, won all her championship titles and also took part in European and World Championships. In 1992 she would have qualified for the Olympic Games , but could not take part because she did not have German citizenship at the time. Her sporting highlight was her participation in the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta / USA . Then she joined TV Wattenscheid 01 , where she trained for another two years. Until 1996 she was trained by Kristina Georgiew, from 1996 Livia Medilanski was her trainer in Wattenscheid. On February 21, 1998, she announced the end of her sporting career in the ZDF broadcast, the current sport studio .

Magdalena Brzeska is a regular guest at shows, on television programs and in the entertainment industry. In addition to smaller appearances such as the program Quizfire, she took part in the Pro7 show Stars on Ice in 2006 . Her partner was professional figure skater Norman Jeschke . On September 1, 2006, she was on the ZDF show "The great celebrity gymnastics with Johannes B. Kerner " as a trainer for the celebrities involved.

At the beginning of 2006, she founded a “Magdalena Brzeska Talent School” for young gymnasts in her home club TSV Schmiden.

For the 2007/2008 season she got a lead role on Holiday on Ice , where she appeared without skates.

In the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008, Magdalena Brzeska became an ambassador in Germany. The aim of the European Commission's campaign was to inform people in all 27 EU countries about the benefits of diversity and to encourage them to engage in intercultural exchange.

Since March 2009 she has an advertising contract with the Göppingen fashion company Wissmach.

In July 2010, Brzeska took part in the reality show Solitary . After 40 hours, however, she left the show voluntarily.

Nudes of her were published in the 09/2011 issue of Playboy magazine .

Magdalena Brzeska took part in the fifth season of the RTL dance show Let's Dance in 2012 . With her professional dance partner Erich Klann , she dropped out in the fourth round due to a lack of sufficient audience calls, but got back in the fifth round because of Gitte Hænning's waiver and won ahead of Rebecca Mir .

In July 2013 Brzeska took part in the RTL live event show The Pool Champions - Celebrities under water , in which she was able to prevail against Massimo Sinató in the final and won.

Since September 2013 she has been the head of a base for rhythmic gymnastics at TSG Söflingen , where she teaches children as head coach.

In November 2016 she and her daughter Noemi Peschel took part in the ProSieben dance show Deutschland tanzt .

Private life

Brzeska married the footballer Peter Peschel in 2001 , with whom she has two daughters (Caprice * 2000, Noemi  * 2001). In 2002 she separated from him. In December 2009 she married the real estate agent Sebastian Sabolocka, also of Polish origin, from whom she divorced in 2012.

Magdalena Brzeska lived in Stuttgart until 2009 . After a year in Marbella during her second marriage, she lived in Munich from the end of 2010 to 2013 and then moved to Ulm .

Others

Brzeska took part in the third season of the competition show Eternal Heroes in 2018 .
