Deutschland tanzt was a German dance show on the TV channel ProSieben , which was broadcast in three episodes on Saturdays in November 2016. The live shows were moderated by Lena Gercke and Ingmar Stadelmann . The show was named by ProSieben as the first “dance competition of the federal states” and was reminiscent of the Bundesvision Song Contests of the same station.
The winner was the deaf dancer Kassandra Wedel ( Bavaria ) ahead of Oliver Pocher ( Lower Saxony ) and Fernanda Brandão ( Hamburg ).
concept
16 celebrities (mostly B and C celebrities ) competed for their state in the first show and showed a dance performance. After the subsequent voting , each federal state chose its favorites. The twelve best advanced one round. In the final, Germany chose its winner from the six best dancers. The live shows were broadcast from November 11th to November 26th, 2016. Nikeata Thompson and Roman Frieling were experts in the show and Ingmar Stadelmann reported as co-moderator from the dancer lounge. In contrast to comparable shows, the original songs were danced.

Reviews
- Robert Meyer from the industry servicequotemeter.de was impressed by the production quality of the program. However, due to the participation of laypeople, it lacks the competitive character.
- The critic of the Süddeutsche Zeitung disliked a few things about the first episode: presenter Lena Gercke looked “sedated”, presenter Stadelmann lost himself in “ men's joke ”, 240 minutes for an episode seemed too long, etc. She didn't like the fact that he was Donald Trump disguised Oliver Pocher again had defeated the main female competitor on points.
- Due to an audience rate of 8.3% among the advertising-relevant target group, the Internet magazine DWDL.de spoke of a “completely screwed start” after the first broadcast on November 12, 2016.
- The Focus praised the semi-finals on 19 November and concluded: "Here, the ProSieben offshoot makes things a lot better than all the barely distinguishable RTL formats with" Dance "in the name. As it is structurally strongly based on the “Bundesvision Song Contest”, it retains the portion of fun and snottiness that ProSieben legend Stefan Raab injected into all of his show ideas. And by declaring the dance competition to be a championship of the federal states, the show also receives an identification factor for the audience. "
