The song was written jointly by Maximilian Giesinger, Martin Maria Haller and Jens Schneider. The latter also produced the single. The music video for Wenn she tanzt celebrated its premiere on September 15, 2016 simultaneously on Facebook and YouTube . The video can be divided into three sections. On the one hand, the stressful everyday life of a young single mother, played by Aline Adam, is depicted during the verses. In the chorus you can see excerpts of this, in which she dances freely on a beach without children and walks through the city with friends; during the final chorus she dances with her children. Occasionally, you can see sections of Giesinger standing in front of a window in an old building, singing the song and, towards the end, dancing to it. The total length of the video is 3:44 minutes.
