Eternal Heroes is a game show from Tresor TV in which former professional athletes compete against each other in various competitions. The model for the show is the successful television format Eternal Glory from Belgium .
The participants live together in a villa in Spain, where they cook together, share rooms and spend their free time as a collective. In addition to the competitions, excerpts from the individual careers are shown and the prominent athletes talk about their lives and answer private questions.
The format has been broadcast in Germany four times at the beginning of the year since 2016. There was also a winter variant broadcast in December 2018.
First season
The first season was filmed in Andalusia and broadcast on the TV channel VOX from February 16 to March 22, 2016 . Ruth Moschner moderated the first season. Sports scientist Daniel Gärtner , as an expert, gave assessments and explanations of the skills required in the competitions.
The initially 10 athletes competed against each other in three different competitions per episode. The winner received 15 points, the second 12 points, the third 10 points, the fourth 8 and fifth to tenth place 6 points to 1 point. At the end of each episode, with the exception of the first, penultimate and last, the last two on the ranking list had to play the so-called "night game". The loser had to leave the season. In the final sequence, the last "night game" was played at the beginning to determine the three finalists. The winner received a large trophy. Second and third place were not played out.
