Gerd Völker

Gerd "Maxe" Völker (born June 26, 1942 in Berlin ) is a former German water diver and swimming trainer and deputy chairman of the jumping division of the German Swimming Association (DSV).

Life

Gerd peoples was born in 1942 and began in 1952 with the water jump on.

At the European Championships in 1962 , he took fourth place in diving . In 1963 he became the first European Cup winner. In 1964 he finished ninth at the Tokyo Olympics . In 1966 he ended his career as a jumper. For the next two years he taught geography and sports as a teacher . From 1964 to 1984 he worked as a swimming trainer at TSC Berlin. From 1984 to 1989 Völker worked as head and association trainer. He later completed retraining to become a construction supervisor. After his professional career as a construction supervisor, Gerd Völker returned to the Berlin Gymnastics and Sports Club (BTSC) as a full-time trainer in 2006 .

He is also the founder of the Berlin Springer Gala , which he has directed and organized for 20 years. Since 1976 Völker has worked as a coach for the national women's team on behalf of the DSSV .

In 2013 he sat next to Christian Keller , Verona Pooth and Franziska van Almsick on the jury of the RTL show " The Pool Champions - Celebrities Under Water ".

Völker is the father of four children.
