Girl on Fire is the fifth studio album by American R & B - singer Alicia Keys . It was released on November 22, 2012 on the RCA Records label. At the Grammy Awards in 2014 , it was named best R & B album of the year.

Kai Butterweck-reviewed album for Laut.de . In his assessment, he says that the 14-time Grammy winner easily puts competitors like Kylie Minogue or Nelly Furtado in her pocket. Key's innovative way of dealing with the familiar ensures a fresh coat of paint for a pop industry that is treading on the spot .
Björn Bischoff, who heard Girl on Fire for Plattentests.de , finds passion in Key's fifth album. The 31-year-old manages to find honest and genuine words instead of inflated dreams for the lyrics and to intone them with a voice that Bischoff places between “lover and mocking song”.
For the music database Allmusic , Andy Kellman explains the number of co-composers and music producers with Keys' common spirit. After her wedding with the music producer Swizz Beatz , Keys worked with a large number of renowned producers on the album, which, however, damaged the cohesion of the album.
The Pitchfork -Redakteur Stephen M. Deusner thinks Girl on Fire is an album about rebirth and renewal. The girl in flames (the translation of the album title) is a phoenix . As on each of the previous albums, Keys have reinvented themselves and equipped themselves with new tools.
