Music video
The music video for Girlfriend was shot in London , United Kingdom and directed by Patrick Hoelck. The music video begins in Keys' bedroom, where her boyfriend calls his girlfriend, with whom he has a close relationship. Frustrated, Keys leaves the apartment and goes into town. While walking into town, Keys sees her boyfriend walking his other girlfriend. Then Keys goes to a clothing store. She strolls through the clothing aisles, soiling a pair of red leather pants, which her friend is watching. Keys pulls hard on her key fob. Shortly afterwards the scene changes and you can see Keys in a large, empty, dark room, where she is playing some musical pieces on a piano . Then the music video switches back to the clothing store, which Keys leaves to dance with three other dancers on the street corner. Keys then finds out that her boyfriend and his girlfriend have planned a surprise party for Keys, which the three of them want to celebrate.
