As I Am is the third studio album by the American R&B singer Alicia Keys . It was released on November 9, 2007 on J Records and won a total of three Grammys . The album sold around three million times in the USA and around six million copies worldwide.

As I Am - The Super Edition was released on November 10th, 2008 , with three bonus songs and a live DVD included.

Emergence

Alicia Keys, who had been working on the album since late 2005, announced the album in 2007. She said in an MTV interview that she's never had so much fun recording, especially because of the free approach and the things she's newly learned:

“It's coming together incredibly. I am in love with this album. It's very fresh and new. I'm really enjoying the process, and I think this may be the most fun I've had recording yet, in regards to just being free about it and allowing all the new things I'm learning to come out through this music. "

Awards

Alicia Keys won a total of eleven awards in 2007, 2008 and 2009 with her album As I Am and the singles from it.

In 2008 Alicia Keys received two Grammys in Los Angeles in the categories of Best Female R&B Vocal Performance and Best R&B Song for "No One". She also won two American Music Awards , a NAACP Award and a World Music Award for her album . In 2009 Alicia Keys received another Grammy for her song "Superwoman".

As I Am is Alicia Key's most successful album in America to date. It was the seventh most successful album in 2008 as well as the most successful album in the United States. It has been awarded triple platinum in the US, double platinum in Canada and platinum in Australia, France, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland and the UK. In Austria, Alicia Keys was awarded gold for As I Am .
