Nazan Eckes
Nazan Eckes (born May 9, 1976 as Nazan Üngör in Cologne , actually Nazan Khol ) is a German television presenter and model .
Life
Nazan Eckes is the daughter of Turkish immigrants from Eskişehir . She has a brother and a sister. At the age of 18, the Muslim woman received German citizenship . In her book Guten Morgen, Abendland Eckes describes life in an immigrant family. In an interview, she replied to the question of whether she used to jump back and forth between two worlds: "It is impossible when you grow up in two cultures to commit yourself."
Private
From 2000 to 2007 she was married to the advertising entrepreneur Claus Eckes from Leverkusen. On June 30, 2012 she married the Austrian painter Julian Khol , a son of the Austrian ÖVP politician Andreas Khol . The couple became parents of two sons (* 2014, * 2016).
Career
After graduating from high school in Leverkusen in 1995 , Eckes completed an internship and an 18-month internship at the music broadcaster VIVA , which she employed in 1998. From 1998 to 1999 she worked as a freelancer for the Turkish local newspaper Haftalık Posta . Then in 1999 she moved to the transmitter RTL , where the weather moderating the local magazine Good evening RTL took over . For RTL West, she moderated the weather from 2000, and she also worked as a reporter for the local magazine. From January 2001 she presented RTL II News . Together with Kai Ebel , she also moderated the Formula Exclusiv magazine .

Since 2005, Eckes has moderated the weekday issues of RTL magazine Explosiv - Das Magazin , as well as the weekend issue Explosiv - Weekend. From 2007 to 2009 she moderated the RTL lunch magazine Punkt 12 as a substitute for Katja Burkard . In 2008, Eckes hosted the Echo Awards together with Oliver Geissen .
Eckes hosted two pilot episodes of the game show The Cube - Defeat the Cube! , Which were broadcast on 29 April 2011 and 10 June 2011 on RTL. Together with Marco Schreyl , Eckes presented the German TV Prize in 2011 . In June 2013, she and Marco Schreyl presented the show The Pool Champions - Celebrities Under Water .
In 2013 and 2014 she presented the RTL casting show Deutschland sucht den Superstar , in 2013 together with Raúl Richter and in 2014 alone, in 2015 she was replaced by Oliver Geissen .
In 2017, Eckes was a member of the jury in the 11th season of Das Supertalent . In 2019 she took part as a candidate in the twelfth season of Let's Dance and reached fourth place with professional dancer Christian Polanc . After many years of work as a representative, Eckes took over the main moderation for Extra - the RTL magazine on December 30, 2019 , replacing Birgit Schrowange , who left the show after 25 years.

Nazan Eckes has been a member of the Advisory Board of the Federal Government Commissioner for Migration, Refugees and Integration since 2011 . In March 2012 she was awarded the “Plattino” prize for services to German-Turkish relations.
Nazan Eckes is also committed to charitable purposes; Since October 2010 she has been the patron of the Ronald McDonald House in Cologne . As an ambassador for the German Bone Marrow Donor Center (DKMS), she primarily wants to convince Turkish people to donate stem cells . In 2011 she could be seen nationwide on DKMS posters; since then it has been used as a testimonial in print advertisements. As the “reading ambassador” of the Reading Foundation , she advertises reading in commercials on RTL. In 2019 she was awarded the German Reading Prize for her commitment .
