Katja Katharina Burkard (born April 21, 1965 in Marienberg ) is a German television presenter .

Working life

After graduating from high school, Katja Burkard studied German and political science in Mainz and Cologne at the Konrad-Adenauer-Gymnasium Westerburg . After a traineeship at Bastei Verlag, she worked as an editor at “Goldene Gesundheit”, “teuto-Tele” and as a reporter for the RTL News editorial offices in Cologne (from point 6 to RTL Nachtjournal ).

From autumn 1995 she alternated the weekend editions of RTL aktuell . Since April 14, 1997, she has been the main moderator of Item 12 .

In 2000, she made a brief appearance as a news anchor alongside Mark Keller in I Love You, Baby . She had another brief appearance as a newswoman in On Heart and Kidneys at the side of Steffen Wink . She was also seen in the 2006 docu-soap Katja's hardest jobs at RTL.

In August 2009 she was in My First Life - Seeing Me Before . It was about life after death. In August 2010, the series was continued with three more issues on RTL. In 2011, Burkard appeared in the Doctor's Diary series. There she embodied herself. From March to May 2015, she was a candidate for the RTL show Let's Dance . Within point 12 , she has been reporting at irregular intervals on alternative healing methods in her own report format since 2019 when conventional medicine no longer knows what to do .

In late September 2019, she published her biography entitled Menopause? No panic! .

Private

The restaurateur's daughter has been the partner of the former RTL editor-in-chief Hans Mahr since 1998 . They have two daughters (* 2001 and * 2007). The family lives in Cologne.

In February 2013 Katja Burkard published her first children's book entitled All around and back and forth - brushing your teeth is not difficult . In addition, Katja Burkard is the patron of several organizations that work primarily for children's rights.

She is also known for her Lispel-S. In a 2007 newspaper interview, she stated that her speech impediment did not bother her.
