Kai Ebel (born August 30, 1964 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German editor and reporter .

Life

After graduating from high school in Mönchengladbach, he completed his military service and then studied at the German Sport University in Cologne, where he graduated as a sports instructor.

At the end of July 2009, after seven years of partnership, he married the native Romanian and painter Mila Wiegand, born as Monica Dragomirescu (born January 18, 1972).

He has been sports editor at RTL since 1988 and has been reporting on Formula 1 live from the racetrack, the pit lane and the starting grid since 1992 . Ebel also works as a reporter on the ring and next to it for RTL boxes. He also moderated the RTL celebrity boxing and the RTL driving license test. In 2004, Ebel made a guest appearance in the music video for the band Groove Coverage's single Runaway . He's been a big fan of the band for years. In 2007 he took part in the RTL broadcast Entern oder Capsern as a commander. In 2010 he also had a short appearance in the episode Cyberstorm of the series Alarm für Cobra 11 - Die Autobahnpolizei and in the film CIS - Chaoten im Special Operation .

He also tried his hand at singing in 2008. The single Sie schrei'n Ebel was not a great success.

Ebel is also known for his extravagant and colorful choice of clothes, for which he was named the moderator with the worst fashion taste in 2009 on the occasion of RTL's 25th birthday.

In 2010 the rapper Eko Fresh published a song about Ebel, which was titled Kai Ebel .

Kai Ebel lives in Mönchengladbach. He lists boxing and Asian food as his hobbies.

In addition, he says he is a fan of the Borussia Mönchengladbach soccer club .

In the Pixar animated film Cars 2 , he lent his voice to a reporter's car in the German dubbing version.
