job

Julian Khol caused a sensation with his large-format works. His expressive line and his direct, reduced application of paint gave rise to references to New York painting of the 1950s as well as the expressive forms and colors of the artist group Die Brücke of the 1920s in Berlin. Through his repeated experimentation and radical leaps in his work, his work defies precise categorization. His mostly serial works revolve around body studies, animals, masks and the face painting of the natives of Papua New Guinea as well as traditional Japanese theater ( Kyōgen , Kabuki and Bunraku ) regardless of format and material . He keeps returning to the landscapes of his home country Austria.
