Leon Roy Taylor (born November 2, 1977 in Cheltenham ) is a former British diver . He started for the City of Sheffield Diving Club in the disciplines of 10 m tower and synchronized jumping. Taylor got into water jumping through swimming and gymnastics at the age of eight.

He took part in three Olympic Games . In 1996 in Atlanta he was ranked 18 in the 10 m high diving, in 2000 in Sydney he was ranked 13 in the same competition and was fourth with Peter Waterfield in the 10 m synchronized diving, in 2004 in Athens he was sixth in the high diving and won the with Waterfield Silver medal. The duo won the first British Olympic medal in diving since Brian Phelps in 1960 .

At FINA World Championships Taylor first took part in the 1994th At the 2005 World Championships in Montreal , he won the bronze medal in the 10 m synchronized jumping with Waterfield. Taylor was also able to win medals at the European Swimming Championships. In 1999 in Istanbul and 2000 in Helsinki he achieved the bronze medal in the 10 m synchronized jumping.

In the 10 m high diving he won bronze at the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and silver in 2002 . Taylor is also a multiple British champion.

Originally, Taylor wanted his career to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing continue, but injuries forced him to end his career before the games. Today he comments as an expert on diving broadcasts and is also an ambassador for the 2012 London Games.
