The two Greeks won after a dramatic fifth and final round. In this round one of the two Chinese who had been in the lead up until then failed, so that this pair did not receive any points and ended up in eighth place. The Russians, who were in second place up to the fourth round, also had to accept a sensitive deduction, as Sautin had touched the board while jumping and had not finished the jump correctly.
