Peng Bo ( Chinese  彭 勃 , Pinyin Péng Bó ; born February 18, 1981 in Nanchang ) is a Chinese diver .

Peng started jumping at the age of eight. In 2001 he took part in the swimming world championships for the first time in Fukuoka . Together with his partner Wang Kenan , who has been training with Peng since 2000, he immediately became world champion in synchronized jumping from the 3-meter board. In the individual competition, Peng was fourth. Two years later at the World Championships in Barcelona , Peng and Wang could not defend their title because the Chinese Swimming Association gave preference to the duo Wang Tialing and Wang Feng . Peng only competed in the individual competition and won the silver medal behind the Russian Alexander Dobroskok . In February 2004 Peng took part in the test competitions held as part of the World Cup at the Olympic Aquatic Center in Athens . There Peng was third in the individual competition and in synchronized jumping he won together with Wang Kenan. Since then, both have been considered favorites for the Olympic Games .

In the Olympic final in synchronized jumping on August 16, 2004, Peng and Wang were more than 12 points ahead after the fourth jump. In the last jump, however, Wang Kenan lost his orientation and splashed into the water. Because of the jump valued with 0 points, Peng and Wang slipped to 8th place. Eight days later, however, Peng became Olympic champion in the individual competition on the 3-meter board. After the semi-finals, Peng was second behind Canadian Alexandre Despatie . In the final on August 24, 2004, Peng benefited from a mistake by the Canadian in the third jump and won with a 31.41 point lead.

Peng is currently studying philosophy at the University of China . He is a member of the Chinese army.
