Laura Aleida Sánchez Soto (born October 16, 1985 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican diver . She starts in both art and tower diving. In 3-meter synchronized competitions, she jumps together with Paola Espinosa .

Sánchez has so far participated in three Olympic Games. 2004 in Athens , she was with Espinosa fifth in 3-meter synchronized diving, 2008 in Beijing , they went to the diving from 3-meter board and finished tenth. Sánchez achieved her greatest sporting success so far at the 2012 in London , where she was the first Mexican to win the bronze medal in jumping from the 3-meter board.

Her only great success for a long time was at the 2003 World Cup in Barcelona . Together with Espinosa, she won bronze in the 3 m synchronized jumping. She was also able to win medals at the Pan American Games. 2003 in Santo Domingo twice silver in the 3-m and 10-m synchronized jumping and 2007 in Rio de Janeiro silver from the 3-m board and gold in the 3-m synchronized jumping. At the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai , Sánchez was sixth from the 3-meter board and thus achieved her best individual placement at world championships. At the Pan American Games in Guadalajara in 2011 , she won gold in the individual from the 3-meter board and with Espinosa in the 3-meter synchronized jumping. With her dubbing partner, she just missed a medal at the 2013 World Championships in Barcelona with 4th place in the 3-meter synchronized jumping and was eighth in the individual.
