Guo Jingjing ( Chinese  郭晶晶 , Pinyin Guō Jīngjīng , born October 15, 1981 in Baoding / Hebei ) is a former Chinese water diver . She is the most successful female diver to date and is also considered the most elegant Chinese diver. Guo won 4 gold medals at the Olympic Games and 10 at World Championships in jumping from the 3-meter board and in 3-meter synchronized jumping.

• Silver medal from the 3-meter board at the 1998 World Championships in Perth .
• Two silver medals at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney (3-meter board singles & synchronized jumping).
• Double world champion 2001 in Fukuoka (3 m board singles & synchronized jumping).
• Defense of both titles at the 2003 World Championships in Barcelona (3-meter board singles & synchronized jumping).
• Olympic champion 2004 in Athens in individual jumping from the 3-meter board and in synchronized jumping, also from the 3-meter board, together with Wu Minxia .
• Also in 2005 double world champion in Montreal (3-meter board singles & synchronized jumping with Li Ting ).
• Olympic champion 2008 in Beijing in synchronized jumping from the 3-meter board together with Wu Minxia and in individual jumping from the 3-meter board.
• 2007 double world champion again in Melbourne (3-meter board singles & synchronized jumping with Wu Minxia).
• Also in 2009 double world champion in Rome (3-meter board singles & synchronized jumping with Wu Minxia).
• 2002 and 2006 a total of three titles at the Asian Games .

Career

Guo started diving when he was 6 years old. In 1992 she was appointed to the Chinese national team for the first time. She now has advertising contracts with McDonald’s and Coca-Cola , and she also models for Chinese fashion labels and cosmetics companies. Due to the McDonald's advertising campaign, she was initially excluded from the national team in the run-up to the 2008 Summer Olympics . But it was later resumed.

Private

At the beginning of 2011, Guo revealed marriage plans and finally announced her retirement from diving when she initially wanted to end her career in 2008, but was persuaded by her coaches to continue. In 2013 she married the billionaire heir Kenneth Fok.
