He Zi ( Chinese 何 姿 , Pinyin Hé Zī , born December 10, 1990 in Nanning ) is a Chinese diver . In artificial jumping, she starts from the 1-meter and 3-meter board and since 2010 in 3-meter synchronized jumping with Wu Minxia .
Athletic career
He Zi took part in the 2007 World Cup in Melbourne . From the 1-meter board she surprisingly won the gold medal ahead of Blythe Hartley from Canada and Julija Pachalina from Russia. After Guo Jingjing's resignation , He Zi formed a new 3-meter synchronized pair with Wu Minxia , and the duo won the gold medal at the home world championships in Shanghai . From the 3-meter board, He Zi also won the silver medal behind her dubbing partner Wu Minxia.
At the Asian Games in Doha in 2006 , she won silver from the 1-meter and 3-meter board, and in 2010 gold from the 3-meter board. In 2010 she was at the FINA - World Cup win two victories in the individual from the 3-meter board and with Wu Minxia in the 3-meter synchronized diving.
On June 28, 2007, He Zi took part in the selection competition for the Chinese national team for the 2008 Olympic Games . Her 3-meter synchronizing partner was the 2004 Olympic champion , Li Ting . In the second round of the 3-meter synchronized preliminary fight, He Zi jumped a dolphin jump instead of the reported backward jump. He Zi turned in the opposite direction to her partner. She only noticed the mistake when the scoreboard showed 0 points. The duo missed the Olympic qualification.
At the 2012 Olympic Games , He Zi won synchronized jumping from the 3-meter board together with Wu Minxia, in the individual competition she finished second behind Wu Minxia.
At the 2016 Olympic Games , He Zi won the silver medal behind Shi Tingmao in the individual jumping from the 3-meter board . During the award ceremony that followed, her teammate Qin Kai made a marriage proposal, which she accepted.
