Wu Minxia ( Chinese  吴敏霞 , Pinyin Wú Mǐnxiá * 10. November 1985 in Shanghai ) is a Chinese water jumper . She starts in jumping from the 1 m and 3 m board. For a long time she was the partner of Guo Jingjing , the most successful female diver of all time, in 3 m synchronized competitions . She has been jumping with He Zi since 2010 .

Wu Minxia started exercising at the age of seven and left her family at the age of twelve to exercise better. She is a student at Peking University . The Beijing native has been one of the world's best since 2000 on the 1m, 3m board and synchronized jumping on the 3m board. After the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney , where Guo Jingjing won gold in synchronized jumping with Fu Mingxia , Wu became Guo's new partner after Fu retired from active sport. In 2001 the new duo in Fukuoka immediately became world champions in 3 m synchronized jumping, and Wu also won silver from the 1 m board. Two years later she was able to defend the title with Guo in Barcelona and was also third in the individual jumping from the 3 m board. At her first Olympic Games in Athens in 2004 , she and Guo Jingjing won the gold medal in synchronized jumping from the board. In the singles she won silver behind her dubbing partner.

The successes continued at the 2005 World Cup in Montreal . Wu won the silver medals on the 1m and 3m boards. Two years later, the synchronized jumping title and silver from the 3 m board were added again in Melbourne . At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Wu was able to repeat her win of the Athens gold medal with Jingjing in synchronized jumping from the 3 m board, in individual jumping she won bronze from the same height. At the 2009 World Championships in Rome , Wu won medals, silver from the 1 m board and gold with Guo in the 3 m synchronous competition. At the home world championship in Shanghai she was able to successfully defend the title in the 3-meter synchronized jumping, this time alongside her new partner He Zi . In the individual from the 3-meter board she won gold for the first time, with a tiny margin of 1.70 points, over He Zi. It was her seventh attempt to win against He Zi.

Wu also won five other medals, four of them gold, at Asian Games between 2002 and 2010.

In the individual, Wu is one of the world's best jumpers, but was mostly overshadowed by her partner Guo. At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , however, she was able to win the gold medal in the individual competition before He Zi. Both also prevailed together in the dubbing competition.
