Yulia Vladimirovna Pacha Lina ( Russian Юлия Владимировна Пахалина * 12. September 1977 in Penza ) is a Russian water jumper . She starts in artificial jumping from the 1 m and 3 m board and in 3 m synchronized jumping. Until 2004 she jumped in dubbing competitions together with Vera Ilyina , since her resignation she has formed a duo with Anastasija Posdnjakowa . Pachalina is multiple world and European champion, at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney she was Olympic champion.

She has so far participated in three Olympic Games and won five medals. In 2000 in Sydney she won gold with Iljina in the 3 m synchronized jumping, in 2004 in Athens the duo won silver, in the individual from the 3 m board Pachalina won bronze. In 2008 in Beijing she finally won silver twice, from the 3 m board and together with Posdnjakowa in the 3 m synchronized jumping.

At the swimming world championships Pachalina could achieve nine medals. At the 1998 World Championships in Perth , she won two world titles, from the 3 m board and in the 3 m synchronous competition. At the 2001 World Championships in Fukuoka , she won bronze from the 3 m board and silver in the 3 m synchronized jumping, and in 2003 in Barcelona she won silver twice in the same disciplines. In 2007 she won her first international medal on the 1 meter board with bronze in Melbourne . At the 2009 World Championships in Rome, she won gold from the 1m board, and she also won bronze in the 3m synchronous competition.

Pachalina was also very successful at the European Swimming Championships . She has won eleven medals so far, including eight gold.

Pachalina lives in the USA . She started for the University of Houston sports team , the Houston Cougars .
