At the XXVIII. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , 18 wrestling competitions were held. For men, there were seven weight classes each in the freestyle and in the Greco-Roman style (each one less than before). For the first time there were four freestyle weight classes for women. The venue was the Ano Liossia Olympic Hall .
